摘要：In the final contribution to this issue, Salimah Valiani pays tribute to Giovanni Arrighi, who passed away on 18 June 2009. As many readers of this journal will know, Giovanni Arrighi made a substantial contribution to political economy through works such as The Long Twentieth Century and The Geometry of Imperialism. Salimah Valiani enriches our conceptions of this scholar by reflecting on his life, his commitment to progressive social movements, and his scholarly works that have advanced our understandings of capitalist development and its contradictions
