摘要:The aim of this paper is to analyze the ways in which “local and international” dimensions of science take place in the production of scientific knowledge within the university context. We focus on the study of three local biomedical scientific teams located at Buenos Aires University (UBA). The study gives attention to the different ways the teams produce and reproduce themselves, analyzing several dimensions affecting research practices, such as: institutional and cultural determinations, techniques and cognitive aspects of research, and international links developed by scholars and fellows. These analytic levels are deeply overlapped. The three teams have been chosen to compare different research strategies regarding the different weight of the international dimensions in the process of knowledge production and the reproduction of the team themselves. This scientific field –biomedicine- has been in the core of a very dynamic and modern tradition, the one inaugurated by Bernardo Houssay (Nobel Prize in 1947), and strongly developed in the UBA. Key words: science- university- research- local-international
