摘要:W. B. Yeats (1865-1939) is an Irish poet, dramatist and prose writer. T. S. Eliot considers him as the greatest English poet in the twentieth century. The classic and legendary love between Yeats and Maud Gonne is greatly well-known in the Western World and permeates from generation to generation. This essay gives a brief introduction to this romantic and sorrowful legend of love and attempt to analyze its impact on Yeats’s creation of love poems in different period of life.
