摘要:The study reviews unemployed people´s perceptions of the usefulness and usability of information sources and channels used in job searching. The empirical data were gathered by interwiews with 18 unemployed persons during 2006. Networked sources provided by jobcentres and Ministry of Labour were most popular. These sources were associated with qualities such as easy access to a wide repertoire of jobs available. The major weaknesses of networked sources include the provision of unspecifi c information about jobs. Personal visits to jobcentres provide useful, although often too general information about jobs. Newspaper advertisements are easily accessible but they tend to be biased towards the needs of highly educated job seekers. Direct contacts to potential employers are believed to provide specifi c information unavailable in other sources; however, the use of these sources is often renderd diffi cult by psychological barriers. Finally, personal contact networks are used to some extent to complement the above sources.
