  • 摘要:Helicobacter pylori is ubiquitously present among humans. Linz and colleagues stated that H. pylori had already colonised anatomically modern humans before the migration from Africa some 60,000 years ago. H. pylori has remained intimately associated with its human host population ever since (1). H. pylori is one of the bacteria with the highest prevalence in the human population. It has been estimated that nearly 3 billion people in the world are colonised (2, 3). The prevalence appears to be higher in developing countries with rates up to 90% and lower in developed countries (4, 5). Most of the colonisation occurs in early childhood from 6 months to reach a peak at about two years. In developing countries, it is estimated that 50% of children are already colonised by five years of age compared to only 5% in the United States (6-9). Socioeconomic factors have been suggested to explain the differences.(Published 14 September 2011) Citation: Microbial Ecology in Health & Disease 2011, 22: 8225 - DOI: 10.3402/mehd.v22i0.8225
