摘要:The hypothesis was tested that the appearance of segmented filamentous bacteria (SFBs) in the small intestine of mice is inhibited by dietary lectins. Mice were fed diets containing either native or boiled (to denature the lectins) Phaseolus vulgaris. Not only was the hypothesis disproved but it was found that native Phaseolus consistently stimulated SFB colonisation. Keywords: Intestinal bacteria; Dietary constituents; Mouse; Segmented filamentous bacteria; Lectins.
