Este artigo analisa o fenômeno da desterritorialização ocorrida no município de Terra Roxa a partir da década de 1970, que contava então com 38.237 habitantes em 1970 e atualmente possui 16.291. O expressivo êxodo populacional ocorrido provocou impacto na economia do município, levando-a adentrar no século XXI sem muitas perspectivas de retomada de crescimento. Contudo, vislumbra-se uma nova realidade econômica a partir da implantação das indústrias têxteis de bordados, retomando o crescimento e a reterritorialização populacional.

This paper analyses the deterritorialization phenomenon in the city of Terra Roxa, state of Paraná, from the 1970's decade up to the present. During the 70's, the number of inhabitants in the city was of 38,237 and it has now reduced to 16,291 inhabitants. The expressive population exodus provoked an impact on the city's economy, taking it into the 21st century without much growing expectations. However, it can nowadays be visualized a new economic reality of growth and reterritorialization of the population, due to the implementation of the embroidery textile industries.
