According to Brazilian health policy, the country's healthcare guidelines include what are defined as standardized actions, established according to specific program protocols, and unique actions such as humanization. In primary healthcare (PHC), the uptake of the different actions by health system managers and health professionals has occurred gradually, through distinct interventions. The current study aimed to analyze the ability of a family health team (FHT) in a real context to achieve the proposed targets for programmatic actions, combined with the development of unique actions. Based on Brazilian and international parameters for medical procedures under PHC, the study included healthcare capacity projections using models for programming results and calculating rate of care pressure (Stockmeier equation) for a given FHT. The projections were then presented to the FHT in a focus group format, in which the contributions were analyzed qualitatively. Thus, with the research results, the current study is useful for backing a revision of PHC goals and parameters.
