标题：Iturbide y Bolívar: dos retratos diplomáticos acerca de la cuestión republicana (1822-1831)

摘要：Según afirma Lamartine en la Historia de los Girondinos, la forma monárquica de gobierno, esencialmente prudente, sería la más indicada para los tiempos de reposo y para las épocas de conservación del orden. La forma republicana, entre tanto, constituiría el gobierno ideal para la gestión de las crisis, de las transformaciones orgánicas y de las revoluciones en curso. Siguiendo aquel sugerente comentario, cabe preguntarse si, a imagen de la Asamblea Constituyente francesa, que pretendió en vano conciliar ambos extremos confiando a un rey semidestronado el legado de la Revolución, los fundadores de las repúblicas hispanoamericanas no emplearon en el mismo sentido la figura de los Libertadores. Para resolver tal interrogante, el presente artículo explora los retratos que de Agustín de Iturbide y Simón Bolívar elaboraron los diplomáticos Miguel de Santamaría y José Anastasio Torrens en la segunda década del siglo XIX.
其他摘要：According to Lamartine, in his History of the Girodins, the monarchical form of government, essentially cautious, was most appropriate for periods of calm and for maintaining the status quo. The republican form of government, by contrast, was ideal for dealing with the crises, the organic transformations, and revolutions that were underway. Following this suggestive comment, it is worth asking whether, just as the French Constitutional Assembly tried in vain to reconcile both extremes by entrusting the legacy of the Revolution to a semi-dethroned king, the founders of the Hispanic American republics did not use the figure of the Liberators in the same manner. To answer this question, this article explores the portraits from the 1820s of Agustín de Iturbide and Simón Bolívar by diplomats Miguel de Santamaría and José Anastasio Torrens.
