摘要：El artículo analiza el intento de implementar la “gestión por objetivos” en las instituciones de educación superior en Chile y Alemania, desde una perspectiva sociológica. El eje argumental del texto lo constituye la distinción entre organización y profesión, y las contraposiciones que existen entre ambas. Se revisan en detalle los supuestos de racionalidad contenidos en el concepto de gestión, las particulares características de la acción profesional en la investigación y enseñanza, y se plantean algunas hipótesis respecto a la forma en que las universidades enfrentan internamente esta nueva lógica de administración.
其他摘要：This article analyses the attempt to implement a ‘management by objectives’ in higher education institutions both in Chile and Germany from a sociological perspective. The argument of the text is based on the distinction between organization and profession and the contrasts existing between them. Rationality assumptions contained in the management concept, the particular characteristics of the professional action in research and teaching are reviewed in detail, and some hypotheses regarding the way universities face internally this new way of management are made.
