摘要：Este trabajo considera el fenómeno de la censura cinematográfica en Chile durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. El argumento central, elaborado a partir de documentación recogida en Chile y los Estados Unidos, es que lejos de ser un fenómeno estrictamente local, la censura cinematográfica chilena se debatió y aplicó a la luz del diálogo y participación de numerosos y variados actores internacionales. Esto fue posible gracias al predominio hegemónico global del cine hollywoodense, lo que facilitó la articulación transnacional de la discusión de la censura cinematográfica en Chile.
其他摘要：This work considers film censorship in Chile during the first half of the Twentieth Cen-tury The main argument, formulated upon the revision of primary sources in Chile and the United States, is that far from being a local phenomenon, film censorship in Chile was debated and applied based on the participation and dialogues among numerous and diverse people from around the world. This was possible because of the global hegemonic predominance of Hollywood movies, which facilitated the articulation of a transnational discussion over film censorship in Chile.
