摘要：O artigo traz uma reflexão acerca do papel e da função do psicólogo nos serviços de atenção primária à saúde a partir da apresentação de relatos da bibliografia sobre a atuação desse profissional em unidades básicas de saúde (UBS) e no Programa de Saúde da Família (PSF). Mostra exemplos concretos de atuação a partir de vários referenciais teóricos da Psicologia. Discorre sobre a formação do psicólogo, ainda eminentemente clínica e de caráter elitista, com pouco enfoque nas questões de saúde pública do País e na necessidade de se repensar o ensino em função das demandas e necessidades da população.
其他摘要：The article brings the reflection about the role and function of the psychologist in the primary health care services based on the presentation of reports of the bibliography about the actuation of this professional in health basic units and in the Family Health Program. It shows examples of the acting in several theoretical references of Psychology. It reasons about the psychologist formation, still primarily clinic with elitist character and little focus in the public health questions in the country and about the need of rethinking the teaching in function of the needs and necessities of the population.
