摘要:IEEE 802.15.4 is a standard that is used especially for Low Rate Wireless Personal Area Network (LR-WPAN). It employs the Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) technique for message authentication. The increase of computing devices in the system should improve the system performance. However, the incremental of computing devices has no impact on the time of message authentication in IEEE 802.15.4 standard because the technique is implemented in sequential fashion. In this project, we proposed a Distributed Message Authentication Code (DMAC) algorithm that employs the Multiple-Key Protocol (MKP) to improve message authentication time in IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The DMAC algorithm distributes the blocks of message fairly among the computing units according to the level of security. The project employs a MATLAB (Matrix Laboratory) version R20011a to simulate the message authentication time. It is software for simulating the experiments of industrial and academic scientific researches. The DMAC algorithm improves the authentication time as following: the time is reduced about 40, 28, 40 and 30% with 2-core CPU when the level of security is 2, 3, 4 and 5, respectively. The authentication time ratio is reduced about 40, 50, 40 and 53% for 2, 3, 4 and 5 sequence of security level with 3-core CPU and for the same security sequence with 4-core CPU the reduction is about 40, 50, 55 and 36%, respectively.
