摘要：Authoritarianism, in general, and military dictatorships, in particular, lacks serious investigations by researchers. This paper is an attempt to fill this vacuum by focusing on the efforts of General Musharraf’s military regime to consolidate after coming into power in October 1999. It is argued here that domestic as well as international conditions were successfully manipulated by the military regime to strengthen its grip on power.
