摘要:The presence of an efficient mould culture collection preserved at optimal conditions and at the original characteristics of each mould is of vital importance for research studies of many related institutions. For this purpose, the moulds that were isolated and identified from samples of surveys conducted under the scope of an 8-year NATO-supported project, are being planned for preservation in a standard culture collection. Around 10.000 mould isolates, after respective required confirmations from CBS-Netherlands and CMI-United Kingdom, have been screened for duplicates and are now taken under preservation. Using slant and lyophilized cultures, these moulds have been systematically archived and classified by the aid of a computer. The archives contain information on the source of moulds, region and city it was collected from, the genus and species, order number and location of the mould in the culture collection room. A cross reference has also been prepared for the genus and species of each mould. More detailed information on these subjects, as well as on the precautive measures for efficient preservation of the collection, will be presented in this study.
