摘要:2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) is permitted to be used only as a herbicide in Turkey, but it is well known that it is also used ignorantly as growth regulator during the growth of some vegetables in greenhouses. Unfortunately, no study has been carried out to determine the residues of 2,4-D in greenhouse vegetables. In most of the methods in which gas chromatography (GC) was used for the determination of the residues of 2,4-D in plant materials, cleaning-up of the sample and esterification of 2,4-D have appeared as very complex treatments increasing the time and the total cost of analysis. Therefore, it has been the purpose of this study to develop an high pressure liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method for the determination of 2,4-D residues in tomatoes A gas chromatographic method offered for the determination of 2,4-D residues in plant materials as methyl ester form was accepted as the basis and modified for HPLC. Quantitative analyses were carried out by HPLC as free acid form. % recoveries corresponding to the added 0.5 and 4 mg/kg of 2,4-D were found out to be 90.6-93.6%, 62.85-74.65%, respectively.
