摘要:In this research, total 1067 samples of pasteurized milk, yogurt, butter, ice cream, cheese, salad, delicatessen products, cookies, spices, fresh fruits and vegetables were enumerated for their contamination of coliform bacteria, fecal coliforms and E. coli. Enumeration was done by using the methods in TS/ISO 6063 and TS/ISO 7725 standards. According to results, the samples contained coliform bac¬teria, fecal coliforms and E. co//respectively in the rates of 58.3%; 44.4%; 20.4% for pasteurized milk (n» 108), 51.9%; 47.1%; 31.4% for yogurt (n» 102), 78.4%; 75.3%; 72.2% for cheese (n-97), 53.8%; 52.7%; 39.6% for butter (n-91), 75.7%, 59.2%; 29.1% for ice-cream (n-103), 100.0%; 91.7%; 78.6% for salad (n=84), 73.7%; 61.0%; 50.9% for delicatessen products (n- 228), 98.8%; 91.7%; 71.4% for cookies (n-84), 80.5%; 77.9; 54.5% for spices (n»77) and 87.1%; 75.3%; 52.7% for fresh fruit and vegetables (n= 93). These results indicate the presence of serious levels of fecal contamination in foods, thus causing a potential hazard for public health.
