摘要:Analogical reasoning is conceptualized by Relational FrameTheory as responding in accordance with an equivalence relationbetween equivalence or other types of derived stimulus relations. Thepurpose of this study was to provide an empirical demonstration ofanalogy using the Relational Evaluation Procedure (REP), a recentlydeveloped technique for the rapid training and testing of derivedstimulus relations. The experiment involved 9 stages in which 5 adultmale subjects were exposed to a complex series of REP training andtesting protocols, by the end of which they each readily demonstrated24 completely novel instances of responding in accordance withanalogical relations as conceptualized by RFT. The implications ofthese results for future functional analytic investigations of analogicalreasoning are discussed.
