摘要:The purpose of this study is to examine the profitability of variable rate phosphorusapplication on rice and soybean production on fields comprised of up to four clay and silt loamsoils in Arkansas County, Arkansas. The four chosen soils and Arkansas county representtraditional rice and soybean production areas in the state. Phosphorus (P) was chosen because:1) farmers have recently been advised of the benefit of P applications on rice as well as soybeans2) recommended P application rates vary greatly between clay and silt loam soils and across riceand soybeans and 3)the residual effects of P applications in a crop rotation affect theappropriateness of VRT.
