摘要：The green industry comprises the production and marketing of woody ornamentals,greenhouse, and turfgrass-related products, and landscape and horticulturalservices. The industry is market oriented with prospects for future growth. Manystate trade organizations have become interested in better measurement of theindustry's economic contribution. The contribution of major industry sectors to theLouisiana economy are quantified with a state input-output model. Also presentedare study results that are mainly based on readily available data sources. Resultssuggest that the state industry made a strong contribution to economic activitycomparable in size to that of other major agricultural commodities.
