摘要：crop rotation consists of 50 percent springwheat production and 50 percent winterwheat production. Would this farmnecessarily have less risk if an alternativecrop was added so that the rotation was 45percent spring wheat, 45 percent winterwheat, and 10 percent in the alternative crop.Contrary to popular beliefs, it is notnecessarily true that adding additional cropsto a rotation will necessarily reduce risk. Anew crop may or may not reduce riskdepending on the crop's revenue variabilityand the extent to which annual changes inrevenue are similar to the existing crops in therotation.
