摘要：A USAGE study of the Excerpta Medica abstracting journal series was conducted recently in order to determine to what extent the journals were being used. Because of the high cost of the series we felt that an evaluation of usage for subscription renewal decisions was necessary. Also, we wanted to test the decisions of other medical librarians who had cancelled subscriptions to Excerpta Medica. We were interested to know if, at the Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Library, this series did indeed receive such low use as to warrant subscription cancellation and if the expense and storage space required were truly not justified.
