摘要:IN JUNE 1980 the Medical Library Association will be holding its Eightieth Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. In a year in which there are many issues of national significance before us, this year's meeting-with its theme, "National Issues and Health Sciences Libraries"-will focus on bibliographic issues, MEDLARS III, advances in biomedical communications, and issues in education for the health sciences. The session in which this last topic will be discussed will be named in honor of Mary Louise Marshall for her valuable and significant contributions to our association. The keynote speech will be given by Warren J. Haas, president of the Council on Library Resources. Washington was last the scene of an MLA convention in 1963, when we met in conjunction with the Second International Congress on Medical Librarianship. Coincidentally, the Fourth International Congress will be meeting in 1980 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.
