摘要：Jean Benson's book review of Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings@ (BMLA 66: 497-498, Oct. 1978) describes very well this fine new reference tool for locating papers published from various meetings. There may, though, be some confusion on the part of the user in distinguishing a proceedings title from a journal title. For entries to proceedings published in a journal, the name of the proceedings appears in bold type in the Contents of Proceedings Index, while the name of the journal appears below in lighter type. Because of this an author may select the proceedings name rather than the journal name as the citation for a bibliography. Librarians should be aware of this, especially when checking a bibliography or verifying an interlibrary loan.
