摘要:Sir William Osler and Miss Margaret Charlton, McGill University Medical School, were two Canadians among the group of eight Charter Members who were instrumental in bringing the Medical Library Association into existence in 1898 as an international association, Miss Charlton becoming the Association's first Secretary. Seventy-one years later, the uninitiated are prone to name it the American Medical Library Association and perhaps some of its members believe that this is what it is or has become.
