摘要:On August 3, 1956, President Eisenhower's signature created Public Law 941 of the 84th Congress: An Act to Establish a National Library of Medicine. By this act, the establishment of the National Library became by Federal Statute the law of the land. The Library's right and its responsibility to perform services on the behalf of the medical professions and through them for the American people has been plainly recognized by the Congress and the Executive.
