摘要：The retirement of Mr. Fisher from active service as Librarian of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, removes from our ranks a pioneer and leader in the administration and development of medical libraries. In September 1882, Mr. Fisher was appointed to the newly created position of Assistant Librarian in the College of Physicians of Philadelphia -the first full time person employed to administer the Library. Later the title of Assistant was discarded. In his capacity as Librarian, Mr. Fisher served until his retirement a few months ago-a span of 50 years. What a record of faithful, efficient, constructive service-a lifetime of industry and devotion in the same institution and to the one cause!
