摘要:By way of preface I want to explain just what this paper is. It was read before an advanced class in the New York Public Library School as one of a series of lectures on special libraries. Hence it may seem to you as elementary and inadequate for this occasion; but it represents an introduction of library-trained people to the medical library. I have, however, omitted local allusions that have no particular interest here and have added some remarks on steps toward a closer acquaintance.
