摘要：Unions occupy a pivotal positionwithin the economies of mostindustrialized countries. Althoughthe unionized workforce is often lessthan 50%, union involvement withtechnical and social change inindustry and society is highlyinfluential. Within unions, full-timeofficials and staff are the unionmovement's key administrators,managers, and organizers, and theirnumbers are increasing¡ªat least inCanada, Britain, and the USA. Asunions grow in size, address morecomplex issues, and services tomembers expand, more officials andstaff members are needed
