摘要：The first day of the colloquium was devoted to the subjectof conflicting loyalties during the decolonization wars.A survivor of the war, General Do Trinh, opened the meet-ings with an official view on the options the Vietnamese hadaround 1945 when the French returned to retake their for-mer colony. French scholar Christopher Goscha presented apaper on foreigner volunteers in the Viet Minh and the moraltaxonomies of desertion and treason in the context of decol-onization.
