摘要：This paper deals with the growth and production potential of Grand fir (Abies grandis (Dougl. ex D. Don) Lindl.) in the territory of School Training Forest Kostelec nad Černými lesy, Central Bohemia. Research plots are located on Luvisol to Pseudogley soils on messosoic sandstones enriched with loess. As for the experimental site, mean annual temperature ranges between 7–8 oC and mean annual precipitation between 650–700 mm. The experimental plots are situated at altitudes ranging between 350–400 m. The research was conducted in 2010, within three permanent research plots, where stands were aged 35–45 years. Based on the stand inventory and growth analyses, the results were compared with measured and model data for other species – Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirbel) Franco), Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karsten), and silver fir (Abies alba Mill.). Results confirmed considerably higher production potential of Grand fir in comparison with spruce and silver fir and at least comparable values with Douglas-fir. Based on the growth analysis it is possible to consider Grand fir as fast growing tree species.
