摘要：This paper focuses on quantitative evaluation and analysis of image segmentation techniques. Image segmentation techniques are being widely used and choosing suitable image segmentation technique is one of the key factors for getting better results. In this paper image segmentation techniques have been evaluated in two categories which are image thresholding techniques and clustering based image segmentation techniques. Various techniques under these categories have been analyzed and compared. Some well-known metrics have been used for evaluation and comparison of performance of these techniques.
