摘要:Feedback loops that link the consequences of landchange to agents and driving forces are essential inunderstanding the relevance of models. This aspectneeds to be added to the four model types discussedby Hersperger et al. (2010)Although we appreciate the efforts to develop afunctional taxonomy of models of land use change, driving forces, and actors, we miss an importantclass: models with feedback from the consequencesof land use change to actors, to driving forces, and/or both. Because the primary societal reason for ascientific analysis of changes in land cover is theconsequences of land cover change on a wide rangeof stakeholder interests and the various waysstakeholders can try to modify land cover change intheir favor, the utility of the conceptual models willdepend strongly on the type of entry points themodels provide for feedback (Fig. 1).
