摘要：Vehicular applications require highly efficient machines and the two main types of motor that can be used for the same are ¨CBrushless DC (BLD C) motor and the Induction Motor (IM) operated under optimum efficiency condition. This paper compares the performance of a PWM controlled BLDC motor with that of an inverter fed IM drive. The IM is operated under efficiency optimization mode whereas the BLDC motors are having inherent high efficiency property. The simulation and experimental results are presented for comparison of both the system. Computer simulation results obtained as well as the performed experiments confirm that the proposed IM control approach also can be applied for electric vehicles when they are operated under efficiency optimization mode
