摘要:As it is well known, the strategic European documents codify only the nominal criteria for economic convergence of the member states (by the Maastricht Treaty). The paper in focused on highlighting the fact that the sustainability of the nominal convergence is fundamentally supported by the real convergence. In the context, a logical analysis of the possible methodologies aimed at to identify the minimal set of the real economic convergence is performed, as well as a short analysis of their completeness, consistence a nd stability. Certain phenomena of morphogenesis (identical effects from different causes, or different effects from identical causes) are pointed out, starting from the premise that the real convergence must be assessed as causes for the nominal criteria of convergence (although are highlighted also certain possible inverse "causal circles"). The paper aspires to deliver not an empirical list of the real criteria of convergence inside the EU, but, especially, a general methodology to identify such a list. Also, some comments on the comparability of the real criteria of convergence among the member states are pointed out (by specific adjustments of the indicators taken into account in order to determine the real criteria of convergence).
