  • 摘要:Interrogativ e sugges tibility refers to the tendency of indiv iduals to accept s uggestive infor mation in an interr ogative context. Gudjonsson and Clar k (1986) have developed a theoretical model of s ugges tibility, and contend that suggestibility is mediated by an individual's cognitiv e abilities , mental state and pers onality characteristics. In particular, they emphasiz e the role of coping s trategies, positing that activ e/problem-focused coping s trategies lead to greater resistance to suggestive information whilst avoidant/emotion-focused strategies lead to increased susceptibility to accepting suggestiv e information. The current study explor es the effect of interrogative suggestibility among the males and females towards r ecalling witnes sed events and their susceptib ility to the interrogative suggestibility. A total of 120 par ticipants (60 males and 60 females) selected r andomly, from Univ ersity of Sindh, Pakistan, were s hown a 5-minute v ideo- clip in groups of 5-7 s tudents. A pre-prepared set of questions was dev eloped to interview the subjects individually. Mean scores, co-efficient o f cor relation a nd t-test was computed to confir m the hypothesis. Individual differences on T otal Suggestibility Score (TSS), shift and yield responses wer e observed. It was found that female ey ewitnesses wer e more s usceptible to the misleading and forced-choice questions than the male
