摘要：Background: India was the first country in theworld to launch a National Family PlanningProgramme with aim to reduce the birth rate tostabilize population. To improve effectiveness ofprogramme, various segments of our populationneed to have the apt awareness regarding thevarious spacing methods. This study is aimed atfinding out the awareness among the women of thesame.Aims and objectives: To find out the knowledge,attitude and practice regarding the use of variousfamily planning methods among the marriedwomen and to associate the findings with theirsocio-demographic profile.Materials and Methods: Sample selection was bysimple random technique and size of the samplewas 329 in UHTC area (Ratanpar). A crosssectional, house to house survey was carried out.The obtained data was analyzed using SPSS forwindows.Results: The couple protection rate in studypopulation was about 51%. About 25.5% of thewomen were protected by terminal methods,25.6 % of the women were using spacing methodsand 48.9% of women did not use any method ofcontraception. The number of users of spacingmethods increased as the level of educationincreased. Maximum (31.00%) users of spacingmethods were in the age group of 26-30 yrsfollowed by 15.80% in 31-35 yrs age group.Conclusion: Almost half of the study subjectswere not using any form of spacing methods,showing the lack of awareness and inadequateknowledge of the importance of contraception.Thus IEC activities need to be strengthened ineducating the women of reproductive age groupregarding the various spacing methods
