摘要:In the media environment we live in the importance of media education for society is essential. Teachers stand out as educational agents through whom students acquire media competence. In accordance with this, their audiovisual education and their judgment of the importance of media education are very important. This paper analyses future teachers’ assessment of media competence education in general and of each of its dimensions and indicators in particular. The case study has been carried out administering a descriptive questionnaire to students of primary and preschool teaching training grades. The results show that future teachers value all the dimensions of media education, expressing special interest in the dimensions ‘values and ideology’ and ‘technology’. Given the importance attached by future teachers to the six dimensions of media education, the paper concludes that it is important to evaluate the curricula and syllabus of teacher training degrees in order to identify what dimensions are included in them and to what extent.
