摘要:As it is known, science and technology lessons have very great significance from primary school to university. In this context, the curriculum content of science and technology is among the most basic components effecting student learning at all education levels. The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the context of Turkish science and technology curriculum and its appropriateness in terms of some national science education standards. In this direction, new 4th grade science and technology content was compared with some important science education standards such as National Science Education Standards (NRC), Project 2061 (AAAS) and Benchmarks For Scientific Literacy (AAAS) at Turkish primary schools. As a result, new science and technology curriculum was found to be insufficient according to above standards including nature and history of science and technology. In the light of present critiques, it was given some suggestions.
