  • 摘要:The issue of instructional effectiveness has been a concern that has been debated for many years. While there have been many discussions over which method is best used to determine how instructional effectiveness is calculated, one main area methodused byadministrators is eitherthe student evaluation of teaching(SET)or student evaluation of faculty (SEF). This paper proposes a new model where administrators consider other additional metrics as a means of determining instructor effectivenessand studentlearning. Two specific metrics include using a pre/post Computing Self-Efficacy survey evaluationand a specific task itemSelf-Efficacysurvey. These metrics were applied to an introductory information system course. Theresults indicate that by utilizing both metricsfaculty and adm inistrators can find a better method for determining student engagement and instructional effectiveness in the classroom than the tradition student evaluation of teaching method
