摘要:In this study we suggest a reading of texts by Portuguese and French authors, from the 16thto the 20thcentury, focussing on the perspective of the student of the Latin language: we have sought the images, memories and impressions (almost invariably negative) imprinted on learners by teachers, methods and didactic aids. Maybe through this evocation, whose scope ranges from Gil Vicente to M¨¢rio de Carvalho, from Montaigne to Marcel Pagnol, will we succeed in finding the causes underlying the constant "convulsions" to which the classical languages have been subjected by curricula and educational reforms
