摘要：Welcome to the first special issue ofApproaches!This issue is dedicated to the first scientific one-dayconference of the Greek Association of CertifiedProfessional Music Therapists (ESPEM)1whichtook place at the OnassisCardiac Surgery Centre inAthens, 13 December 2008. The conference wasentitled "Music Therapy: Theory and Practice" andwithin it a range of theoretical approaches andpractical interventions were presented, as these areapplied in various therapeutic contexts and targetgroups in Greece.Recognising the multi-layered significance ofthis one-day conference for the development ofmusic therapy in Greece, the documentation anddissemination of its proceedings to the widerscientific and professional community wasconsidered essential. Towards this direction, inAugust of 2009Approachesentered into apartnership with ESPEM. The publication of thisspecial issue with the proceedings of the conferenceis the fruit of this productive collaboration betweenthe two bodies, and is a useful example of thepotential force and creativity that are feasible whenprofessional and disciplinary bodies bond theiractions, knowledge and vision towards a commonpurpose
