摘要：While ICT continues to advance in western countries, African countries still experience a lag in itsimplementation, and that continues to widen the digital and knowledge divides. This article providesan insight into the state of educational development in Kenya and the role of ICT in narrowing theknowledge divide. It documents the progress made in educational development, while revealing thechallenges faced. The article provides an overview of the historical and economic context, socialfactors, and the organization and state of education. While the context is Kenyan, the strategiesdiscussed are applicable to other African countries with similar challenges
