摘要：Wireless sensor networks address a broad range of applications related to national securit y, surveillance, military, healthcare and environmental monitoring. They are rapidly growing area for research and commercial development. One of the most active areas of research in wireless sensor networks is that of coverage. Coverage in wireless sensor networks is usually defined as extent or degree to which something is observed, analyzed, and reported. The coverage problem has been extensively studied in recent years. In this paper, we take a representative survey of the work that has been done in the area of coverage. Several terms and concepts have been defined and then shown how they are being utilized in various resea rch works. We also provide a brief summary and comparison of different types of coverage.
