  • 摘要:In the last decade there has been increased interest and spirited debates among the educators, neuroscientists, cognitive psychologists and researchers about the confluence of mind, brain and education. Recent scholarly journals in education research paid due attention to this area. For example special issues of Educational Research (2008) with the theme Education and neuroscience, Cortex (2009) discussion forum on the use and misuse of neuroscience in education, Contemporary Educational Psychology (2010) on Brain research, learning and motivation, and Educational Philosophy and Theory (2011) on Educational Neuroscience are the vivid examples. These publications reflect the level of interest among educators and researchers in multidisciplinary areas. It is becoming evident that research in this area is expanding and findings will provide foundation for understanding brain-based connections to teaching and learning. This timely special issue of the Journal of Environmental and Science Education brings together international educational researchers to present the recent advances in neuroscience, developmental and cognitive psychology and learning and its contribution to the diverse disciplines in education. It is hope that the articles contain in this issue will further fuel the interest and provide impetus for exploring the link between mind, brain and education.
