摘要:In MANETs (Mobile Ad-hoc Networks), there is nothing like central infrastructure to monitor or manage the resources used by the mobile nodes. MANET poses various kinds of security problems, caused by their nature of collaborative and open systems and by limited availability of resources. The absence of any central coordinator makes the routing a complex one compared to traditional networks. The AODV (Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector) routing protocol is designed for ad hoc mobile nodes. AODV uses an on demand approach for finding the paths. In this work I have take a look at AODV in detail, study and analyses various attacks that can be possible on it. Then I study some proposed mechanisms for securing AODV routing protocol. My proposed work is to the secure AODV protocol with Double Signature mechanism which includes Secure Hash algorithm aimed at improving normal AODV performance. In my work I am going to propose an extension to the secure AODV protocol which includes secure hash algorithm aimed at further improving its security with network performance. I will analyze how my proposed secure encryption algorithm can help in further improvement of security and performance in AODV and also I will compare its performance with existing secure mechanisms using simulation in Network Simulator 2.
