摘要：This paper attempts to explain the human and non human interactions in Anita Desai’s Cry, the Peacock. Nature is the eternal repository of indefinite human emotions and in most of Anita Desai’s novels, female protagonists are oppressed in one way or the other like nature and are close to nature; they psychologically associate themselves with nature and are integrally related. Nature has fascinated and bewitched Maya, the female protagonist in Anita Desai’s Cry, the Peacock and has played a dynamic role in her life.
