摘要:In recent years, in the study of molecular interactions in binary liquid mixtures by acoustical methods, internal pressure has gained significant interest. Several attempts have been made to calculate the internal pressure of liquids and liquid mixtures theoretically. Here we made use of two empirical methods to estimate the internal pressure in four binary liquid mixtures viz., cyclohexanone with isopropyl acetate and isobutyl acetate and N,N-Dimethyl acetamide with o-cresol and mcresol. The ultrasonic velocity (U), density (ρ) and viscosity (η) have been measured for the said binary mixtures at 308 K. Excess internal pressure has also been calculated from the experimental data of pure liquids and liquid mixtures. The excess values give better understanding of the molecular interactions between the components.
