摘要:This paper examines using threaded discussion technical groups as an aid in solving technical problems. The study focuses on factors that may affect whether a question receives a response. The terms used and the length of subject lines were examined for 66,650 threads from 13 different technical groups. Statistics from threads that received replies were compared to threads that did not receive replies. The average number of terms used in threads that received replies was lower than threads that did not receive replies across all 13 groups. T-Tests were significant for 11 of the 13 groups tested. Some support was found for the use of specific terms in subject lines.
