摘要：The last two decades have seen a tremendous change in the field of Internet services. The main reason for this sea change is the impact of Information and Communication Technology tools and services which have influenced the Internet services. For the last decade, each new technological advance has predicted the demise of brick and indeed we have seen many giants fall. Through various technologies like cloud computing, Web 3.0, grid computing, and applications will have to adopt novel software engineering techniques for development and deployment. Scalability, Interoperability, Availability (tolerance to failure), Reliability, Security (confidentiality, integrity, authentication, authorization), and Anonymity are some of the important quality and usability features that will determine the success of new Internet applications. Internet2 actively engages our community in the development of important new technologies including middleware, security, network research and performance measurement capabilities which are critical to the forward progress Internet applications.
